  • (1888PressRelease) July 22, 2009 - Beijing's Hotel G recently exhibited at the Asia Luxury Travel Market event in Shanghai for the first time. Feedback for the Hotel G Beijing at the event was incredible, according to the management.

The Asia Luxury Travel Market (ALTM) exhibition was held for the third time in Shanghai this year. The 3-day B2B event offers luxury travel providers the opportunity to showcase their products and services to global travel buyers. Almost 280 exhibitors for 36 countries attended, with more than 300 buyers from 19 different countries.

“ALTM provided a great opportunity for Hotel G Beijing to introduce its unique concept and services to the luxury travel market. The fair enabled exhibitors and buyers to showcase their activities”, said Alex Chakrabarti, the General Manager of Hotel G Beijing.

"We've had some excellent feedback from travel buyers since the fair", said Marc Bichet, Director of S&M for the designer Beijing hotel. "People were most impressed by the bold design of the hotel. We are targeting a younger, design-conscious professional market, and they've been very enthusiastic about our offering", Mr Bichet continued.

A recent solo traveller from Ulaanbaator enthused about the Beijing hotel's design: When you arrive they will give you a mini aquarium with little gold fish (if you are traveling alone) ... I really miss her now! Design is awesome and those colorful windows are something".

    ALTM events included:
    • Introductory conference adapting luxury travel to economic pressures, changing customer expectations and brand strategy
    • A keynote speech by European Business Speaker of the Year Larry Hochman
    • Panel discussion on new-wave branding versus the traditional model
    • A closing debate titled "Luxury Is Dead. Long Live Price", chaired by travel media specialist Yeow Siew Hoon.

    About Hotel G:
The newly opened Hotel G Beijing is a stylish and exciting new addition to Beijing boutique hotel scene.

With a striking entrance and façade which transforms into an explosion of colored lights by night (hotel guests can actually select their own window lighting), the 110-room hotel is located in Gong Ti Xi Lu close to a host of popular eateries and nightspots in the City’s lively Sanlitun district.

A conversion of an existing building, Hotel G Beijing has been designed by talented British architect/designer Mark Lintott (www.mld.tw) who is well known for his daring and innovative interior design projects, notably of leading entertainment venues, in his adopted home in Taiwan.

The 1960’s inspired rooms and suites feature a casual blend of understated glamour and low-key opulence such as red velvet hanging sofas and contemporary Chinese touches. Amenities include high-speed wireless internet, iPod docking and plasma TV with multi-national channels.

Hotel G Beijing is the first of an exclusive boutique hotel www.hotel-g.com brand launched by Hong Kong-based real estate private equity management firm Gaw Capital – and a model to be rolled out in selected cities throughout Asia.
