February 22, 2009 - Phantom Data Systems has officially teamed up with RackSpace! Phantom Data Systems of Norwalk today announced a partnership with RackSpace to deliver hosted Exchange Server, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Mobile Collaboration, Web Access and hosted services to customers. This will be the first of such partnerships for the Norwalk, Connecticut based company. "We don't have more than one vendor partner for any given service offering. We had the option of building out or partnering with a best of breed vendor in which case is presently RackSpace according to our findings". Said Alani Kuye, Managing Partner at Phantom Data Systems.
While SaaS (Software As A Service) has been picking up both in the small, enterprise and mid market space, service providers that are only on premise solutions centric will have to diversify. "We knew this since day one and have always been prepared should a situation like the current economy hits. During our annual vendor review meetings, we had to axe a few vendors and step up our efforts in certain areas. For the next 24 months, our SaaS business is anticipated to grow between 400 - 500 percent annually, based on current levels" continued Alani Kuye. From large insurance providers with geographically distributed users, to real estate and financial companies, SaaS is making a compelling presence. "We are going full blown SaaS, no question about that. Results have been tremendous in the first quarter on 2009" added Andrew Jennings, VP of Sales. As companies freeze budgets and cut back on capital procurements, SaaS has been a very viable option that most are considering. "Being local to Wall Street, Stamford CT, and New York City has had a tremendously positive impact on our SaaS business as well" added Alani Kuye.
