November 03, 2009 - Horizon Café, located in the in the trendy Chicago neighborhood of Lakeview, will be open for Thanksgiving from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Take advantage of home-style cooking at its best. "We've offered Thanksgiving in Lakeview for more than three years and have quickly become a local tradition, featured in the Red Eye, Centerstage and Metromix web sites and the Chicago Tribune," says Nickolas J. Cocalis, owner.
Horizon Café's, Thanksgiving special will include a generous four-course turkey dinner with all the trimmings for $16.99 (dine in) and $18.99 (carry out and delivery). Start with your choice of pumpkin soup or creamy chicken rice. Horizon Café, ranked in 2008, for top ten best soups in Chicago by Citysearch, and chef and co-owner John Cocalis looks forward to making his signature creamy pumpkin soup. "I like making our signature creamy pumpkin soup because it's a special occasion soup that's fitting for the season."
Guests will dig into a side garden salad with your choice of dressing. Several of the dressings are made by Chef John including the House favorites: Greek, balsamic and ranch dressings. The main course is hand-carved turkey breast with cream or brown gravy, homemade mashed potatoes, seasoned dressing, vegetable and cranberry sauce. The dessert course will feature a choice of either pumpkin pie or apple pie.
Horizon Café will feature special breakfast selections on Thanksgiving morning, including Turkey and Swiss Omelet, Pumpkin Spice French Toast and Turkey Ciabatta Breakfast Sandwich. In addition, the much-anticipated Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie will be available for advance orders. "Many of our customers have made it a tradition to order pies and offer them to their family and friends," says Nick.
Reservations for parties of six or more are recommended. Delivery for that day has been extended beyond Lakeview to Lincoln Park, Gold Coast and Streeterville. Advance order requests for the Thanksgiving four-course meal and homemade apple butter pumpkin pie will begin November 1st.
