  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) December 15, 2013 - Lisa Pellegrene is an animal rights advocate, vegan, entrepreneur and actress who took it upon herself from a very young age to be a voice for all of the animals, but beginning 10 years ago, she has particularly been the voice for the breeds of dogs typically discriminated against, such as Rottweilers and Pit Bulls. Take Spirit for example. Spirit is a four year old pit bull who from the onset was not dealt the best hand before she was taken under the wing of Animal Control, and a bit later, and currently taken under the wing of Miss Pellegrene. Spirit had been found by Animal Control, abandoned in a van without food or water, she had arrived at the shelter traumatized because of her previous experience at the hands of guardians who were far from fit to be her guardians, given the condition in which Spirit was found when rescued. Thankfully for Spirit, Animal Control rescued her and then she was taken under the wing of Miss Pellegrene, who is the Southern California representative for Mid-West Rottweiler Rescue.

In addition to Spirit, there is Pittie, Max and soon to be Panther, all at the boarding facility, receiving proper nutrition, proper medical care, a lot of interaction from the staff and Miss Pellegrene, yet what they most of all need includes finding their forever homes where they can live out their life with a family.

Miss Pellegrene has been hosting online fundraisers with her significant network and follower base via Facebook to help support the cost of their care until homes come forward, and has paid for some of their care personally to make certain that these dogs receive the care they need until homes come forward. She continues to network them extensively, and has reached out to many rescues in Los Angeles to receive additional support for them. The many rescues she has contacted for additional support for them, have been full or unable to help, as many state they are at capacity. At this time, Miss Pellegrene wishes to engage the support of the general public. "Boarding alone is $1800 a month for 4 dogs, along with food and medical expense, and in addition to this at times we need to engage the support of a trainer. We definitely need to have the support of the public on a larger scale, in terms of donations which can be made direct to the facility or direct to the rescue. With increased support, we can help find them loving homes and then this will allow us to continue to help additional dogs in need in the Los Angeles area." She continued to state, "We are very much in need of volunteers, and for these dogs to have the exposure they need to find their forever homes."

Miss Pellegrene will continue to be a voice for these animals, and a strong advocate for them until they have their happy ending, where they are placed in their forever homes with loving families, which is why she is now reaching out to the general public. "These dogs are fabulous, loving dogs who deserve their forever homes, with proper exposure for them we can let the public know just how amazing they are, and find their perfect loving homes". Miss Pellegrene states.
