Memphis, TN-AR-MS (1888PressRelease)
May 17, 2008 - The birth of a midwife has come to the Home Birth Midwifery Service, as our apprentice and midwifery assistant, Melissa Stallings, has completed the educational and clinical requirements of the North American Registry of Midwives.
This accomplishment means that she will now be able to apply for and take the NARM written exam and skills assessment in order to become a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). Melissa has worked for many years to learn the art and skills of midwifery, which means "with woman." Her commitment to her path, that of a home birth midwife, shows in every facet of her work.
She is a hospital doula (birth assistant), childbirth educator, breastfeeding consultant, midwife's assistant, and now on the verge of becoming a CPM! After being awarded her CPM credential, Melissa will apply for her TN license to practice midwifery. When that time comes, we will be happy to make another press release to announce that event. Those interested in expressing their sentiments and congratulations to Melissa are encouraged to visit our website at:
