April 07, 2008 - The Eric Hoffer Book Award committee has released the short list of finalists for the 2008 book award season. The Hoffer Award for independent books recognizes excellence in publishing with a $1,500 grand prize and various category honors and press distinctions, as well as the winner of the Montaigne Medal.
“The Hoffer Book Award is an integral part of the ongoing Eric Hoffer Project,” said Christopher Klim, Chair of the Eric Hoffer Award. Klim is also the award-winning author of several books.
The Hoffer Award short list is an honored distinction of its own and is announced publicly during the spring of each award year. The grand prizewinner is anticipated within the month. Here is the current short list of award finalists in alphabetical order:
