Historic State Bank Building Renovation In Milwaukie

Local area investment company, sees the vision of Milwaukie’s Historic Downtown area.

Portland-Vancouver, OR-WA (1888PressRelease) June 18, 2008 - The Historic State Bank Building at 10883 SE Main St. has undergone a complete make-over becoming the focal point in the heart of the Milwaukie Downtown Revitalization Project. Main/ Monroe Investors, LLC is proud to announce the final stages of the buildings complete renovation. The State Bank Building, located in the HEART of downtown, was constructed in 1909 and housed the First State Bank of Oregon, Perry’s Pharmacy and later The Gay Blade. After several remodel attempts over the past decades, Main/ Monroe Investors, LLC went to great lengths to ensure that the buildings renovation re-captured the original class and beauty of a younger downtown Milwaukie.

With the booming new business growth in the downtown area, The State Bank Building fits in nicely and provides an excellent accent to Milwaukie’s Downtown revitalization project. With the new Milwaukie River Front Park lining the shore of the Willamette River, the State Bank Building is seated at the gateway to the park. Located one block east of McLoughlin Blvd. the Milwaukie Downtown area sees an estimated 55,000 car trips daily, most from the adjacent Portland and Sellwood areas, providing highly profitable commercial exposure. Main/ Monroe Investors, LLC plans to find a building tenant that shares their dedication to local growth and who understands the importance of supporting this historic downtown.

Milwaukie has seen many changes over the years. From the North Main Village to the River Front Park, Milwaukie is changing, providing increased commerce and usability to visitors and residents alike. Metro has also recently expressed interest in providing additional grant funding for improvements in the Historic Milwaukie Downtown area. These grants could allow more businesses the access to these historic spaces, creating an even more dynamic downtown area.
