Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards Producer, L.A. Times Hero to Author 1992 L.A. Gang Truce book with Master P’s Brother, C-Murder

The original Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards returns with an induction ceremony, awards show, commemorative DVD, and reunion concert.

(1888PressRelease) July 29, 2008 - New York, NY – After 16 years in the game, one of Hip Hop’s Greatest “Grassroots Community Leadership” feats stories will be told. Corey “C-M” Miller’s TRU Books is once again at the forefront in bringing real-life Hip Hop and street stories to life in print. TRU Books is in the final stages of negotiations with L.A. gang truce alliance co-founder and Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards (HHHOF) television show executive producer, J.T. Thompson. The book will tell the real story behind the L.A. riots and the subsequent L.A/Watts gang truce that included his partner in the struggle, Daude Sherrills. The motion picture movie “Redemption” starring Oscar award winner Jamie Foxx playing the character Stanley “Tookie” Williams, Crip gang founder, is a small reflection of the “TRU-Story”. The new book will tell the story of a visionary leader who risked his life to rebuild the city of Los Angeles and rid it of its severe gang problems. Eventually, the crime rates were lowered in L.A., former gang members helped to rebuild the Hollywood Sear’s Store, and they learned new life skills and created new businesses.

About writer and creator, JT Thompson

As one of the main co-founders of the historical 1992 L.A. gang truce alliance, HHHOF producer J.T. Thompson took the lead in bridging community, private, and public works and socio-economic development projects during and after the L.A. Riots. With his efforts, he helped reduced crime rates, created job and business opportunities, transformed the landscape of urban centers around the country including the brand new Harlem, USA. He is the forgotten Hip Hop and L. A. Times Hero.
