Hilton Head Health Honors Army Wives

Hilton Head Health honors army wives by extending two complimentary one-week stays to two deserving army wives from Fort Bragg, NC.

(1888PressRelease) October 08, 2008 - HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (October 7, 2008)—Hilton Head Health (H3I), the nation’s leading weight loss destination and spa, honors army families by extending two complimentary one-week stays to two deserving army wives from Fort Bragg, NC. Anjanette Jones and Erika Hubbard were selected by the XVIII Airborne Rear Detachment office supervised by Sergeant Tom McCollum. The wives first visited the week of September 28th, and are scheduled to come back for another week prior to their husbands’ return home.

Sergeant McCollum states “Sometimes the wives make personal sacrifices for the good of the family…[which] can make the wives’ and families’ lives harder, but they always rise to the challenge because they know their actions have a very direct affect on the Soldier and the family.” H3I recognizes and appreciates the wives’ commitment to the army lifestyle and the hardships that come along with it. The experience at H3I will help to empower these women with the knowledge, practice and resources to make healthy changes for themselves and for their families while their husbands serve in Iraq.

In addition to the weekly experience at H3I, each wife received several individual consultations with H3I Health Specialists including a Health Habit Review, Meal Planning, Exercise Prescription and Personal Training session. Upon returning home, H3I Specialists will continue to provide motivation, support and answer any questions along their path to a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, H3I has arranged for each wife to receive a gym membership in Fayetteville, NC, in order to maintain and practice their weekly fitness routines.

Prior to their husbands’ return from Iraq, each wife is scheduled to come back to H3I where they will again participate in the 7-day program, and where they will also receive a makeover to complete their transforming experience. H3I has partnered with DK STYLE, a first class team of professional image consultants, to ensure that the wives look and feel their best. DK STYLE will provide the wives with a complete makeover consisting of skin care, make-up, hair styling, wardrobe consulting and a professional photo shoot.

H3I CEO, John Schmitz, comments, “I’m so pleased that we are able to show our dedication and appreciation for army families. Being a veteran myself, I understand the obligations and commitments taken on by the families of those serving in the armed forces.”
