October 24, 2009 - Hearts & Hoses, San Diego’s most established medical training company is announcing its intentions to educate the public about various training and certification courses in CPR. They also cater to Emergency Medical Services Personnel (EMS) by offering Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Founded by a local firefighter/paramedic and registered nurse, Hearts & Hoses aims to deliver comprehensive, up-to-date education in life-saving techniques from experience medical professionals who currently use them in emergency situations.
Chris is the Co-Owner of Hearts & Hoses and teaches ACLS, PALS and CPR. He is currently employed at the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department as a Firefighter Paramedic. He has over 14 years of experience in the pre-hospital setting. Chris is also an experienced Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor. He holds a degree in Fire Science. Christina is also CO-Owner of Hearts & Hoses and teaches ACLS, PALS and BLS. She is currently employed with Scripps Hospital in Encinitas as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. Christina has over 9 years of Emergency Room experience. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from UCSD and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from San Diego State University.
“We offer training courses that cater to both the public and EMS personal. The CPR course is designed to educate a person without any medical background the essential skills of CPR. These skills are beneficial as lives may be saved at one point or another. The ACLS and PALS courses are designed to increase the level of skills possessed by EMS personnel. We set high standards for our students so that those who complete the training will be well equipped with the knowledge they need to save lives” said Chris. He believes that if the general public knew the basic skills in CPR, lives could be saved. “Possessing these skills will not only benefit you, but the society you live in.”
