The certification is given to only 2% of the 4,800 possible eligible companies in the United States. The Joint Commission mission is to continuously improve the safety and quality of care provided to the public through the provision of health care accreditation and related services that support performance improvement in health care organizations. The Joint Commission is the leading “watchdog” for patients in hospitals throughout the United States.
