July 21, 2006 - Douglas Hanna, webmaster and editor of www.hd-radio-home.com has announced the addition of a new HD Radio Forum.
"There’s a lot going on with HD Radio, including a lot of misunderstanding as to what this technology means to listeners. We thought it would be helpful to add a Forum where visitors could ask questions and get answers about HD Radio, HD Radio Stations, HD2 Subchannels, and HD Radio receivers. It can be reached via a link on our web site, www.hd-radio-home.com or by clicking to

HD Radio is a new form of digital broadcasting that is said to improve AM radio stations to the point where they sound as clear and static-free as today’s FM stations, and FM stations to the point where it sounds as if you were listening to a CD.
More than 800 stations around the U.S. Have already addes HD Radio technoloy and the number is expected to grow to 1,200 by year’s end. HD Radio technology also enables stations to add what are known as HD2 channels or digital subchannels where they can broadcast different formats at the same time. For example, a station could broadcast today’s country hits on its regular frequency and classic country on an HD2 channel – all simultaneously.
Digital HD Radio also allows stations to broadcast text messages such as traffic alerts or weather reports, as well as information on the song playing.
"We’ve had broadcast professionals visit our web site and leave comments," Hanna said. "So we know they’re regular visitors. We think it would be great if they also choose to participate in the new Forum so that our non-techie visitors could get expert answers to their questions."
