November 17, 2009 - Patriot, which has about 100 employees, is a leading provider of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare IT, imaging, and enterprise software solutions. Harris is a leader in federal healthcare information systems integration, imaging and digital content management solutions supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Federal Health Architecture.
The acquisition further extends Harris Corporation's presence in the rapidly expanding $3.4 billion federal government healthcare IT market. The move positions the company to provide comprehensive interoperability solutions that address the national priority of VA and Military Health System enterprise integration.

Headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Patriot has operations in the Washington, D.C. area, including a facility in Silver Spring, Maryland — next to VA headquarters. Patriot will become part of the Harris Healthcare Solutions business unit, led by Jim Traficant, vice president.
