June 27, 2008 - ROCHESTER, Mich - Harman Corporation has recently renewed their ISO 9001:2000 certification. The ISO 9001:2000 certification renewal process audited Harman’s Quality Management System, ensuring that customers receive the highest quality products from the plastics manufacturer.
The International Organization of Standardization (ISO) is a worldwide organization that develops standards industrial businesses, including plastics companies. The ISO 9001 system is a series of documents within the Quality Management System (QMS) Standard. It contains the requirements that an organization must be in compliance with to become ISO 9001 Registered. The current version of the standard was updated in the year 2000.
Harman Corporation implemented the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System to improve operations, performance, quality, and profitability. According to Ted Fisher, VP of Operations at Harman Corporation, “the recent ISO 9001:2000 certification renewal validates the commitment to quality that Harman employees demonstrate each day.”
