The website's aim was to help couples save money on their weddings. Many visitors to the website say they love the ideas on the site but did not have the computer experience to get the wording printed onto their invitations. They want them to be handmade but still look professional. "And having them printed is just too expensive." says Janet Livingston, a recent visitor to the website. "I just love it. I printed my own save the date cards, invitations with RSVP inserts and wedding directions cards. And it was completely affordable."
With the cost of weddings steadily increasing the Do-it-yourself-invitations.com has become a valuable resource to it's clients. "A handmade wedding invitation can usually be produced for under $1.00 and end up looking twice as beautiful as an invitation you order from a commercial printer," added owner Delilah Hatch. "You can easily spend $4.00 or more per invitation at a commercial vendor."
The website offers ideas and step by step instructions to create any of their wedding invitations styles yourself, free of charge. The custom design services run the average clients around $35.00 to $60.00. Design services are completed generally within 48 business hours.
