Hakim Djaballah, Director Of Hts At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center To Present At Gtcbio’s 3rd Assay Development & Screening Technologies Conference, June 5-6, 2008 In San Francisco, CA

Dr. Hakim Djaballah, Director of High Throughput Screening Core Facility at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center will present at GTCbio’s 3rd Assay Development & Screening Technologies Conference on June 5-6, 2008 in San Francisco, CA. Dr. Djaballah will speak on successful applications of high content assays using confocal microscopy.

(1888PressRelease) April 03, 2008 - Traditional screening has long been associated with a one to one relationship between target and measured compound activity per screened well; sometimes referred to as “Low Content Screening”. Recent advances in robotic driven microscopy based imaging and in screening data acquisition and management systems have allowed Dr. Djaballah and his group to perform multiparameter screens enabling on the fly prioritization of hits, especially those with undesirable features independent of phenotypic readouts. As a result, they can now have an “n” to one relationship between target and measured compound activity per screened well, where n is the number of parameters measured; this new concept is referred to as “High Content Screening”.

Dr. Djaballah will be presenting an ensemble of projects utilizing this new concept and will discuss the advantages of high content assays for chemical and functional genomic screens.

GTCbio's 3rd Assay Development and Screening Technologies conference will provide attendees with critical information to utilize in the discovery and development of assays, while keeping them informed about the latest screening technologies for both high-throughput screening and high-content screening. Topics being covered include cell based assays, high throughput screening, high content screening, in vitro assays and screening, novel assay and screening technologies, and target validation.
