June 04, 2009 - Hacienda Mexican Foods, a Detroit-based manufacturer of corn and flour tortillas and tortilla chip products, today announced its President, Lydia Gutierrez, was recently appointed to the Michigan Supply Chain Management Development Commission for a term effective June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010. Governor Jennifer M. Granholm made the appointment.

"I look forward to sharing my experience and knowledge as a local manufacturer and distributor of Michigan-made products."
The Michigan Supply Chain Management Development Commission is a 15-member body consisting of politicians, business leaders, community organizers and seven skilled individuals with diverse experience in supply chain management and logistics. It was created within the Department of Treasury to advise the governor on issues related to increasing international trade, monitoring the supply chain from manufacturer to consumer, and to make recommendations on policies impacting state transportation and economic development.
Gutierrez currently serves as a member of the Michigan Food Policy Council, the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Southwest Detroit Business Association (SDBA), an Executive Board Member for the Tortilla Industry Association, and a member of Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
