January 27, 2009 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates : International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC), the global provider of tailored, industry-driven conferences, will be hosting the District Cooling Summit 2009, an exclusive two-day conference alongside a further two days containing a masterclass and two workshops, all of which take place in Dubai. The event will be opening on the morning of Monday 16 February 2009 by H.E. Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA.
With water and electricity becoming ever scarcer commodities in the region the implementation of district cooling is seen as one of the principal means of reducing power consumption and providing a sustainable solution to overcoming the harsh climate in the Middle East. The conference is designed for the construction industry, taking a particular focus on the successful implementation of district cooling and its integration into projects.
James Plotnek, Conference Director for the District Cooling Summit 2009, says, “This event provides a fantastic opportunity for the construction industry to come together and discuss two key issues, optimising efficiency and achieving sustainability, which are more important than ever in today’s economic and environmental situation.” District Cooling Summit 2009 will also provide an exclusive case study on the cooling of the landmark Al Raha Beach development, which will be presented by Faisal Al Kamali, Head of Planning & Infrastructure at Aldar Properties PJSC.
Attendees can immerse themselves in a full programme of presentations and case studies from local and international speakers, as well as interactive discussions on crucial issues. In addition to the latest topics, this event will consider innovative solutions to the longer-standing problems faced across the industry.
District Cooling Summit 2009 runs in the period from 15 to 18 February 2009 at the Arjaan Rotana, Media City, Dubai, UAE. Further information may be obtained at www.districtcoolingsummit.com
