December 21, 2011 - The Occupy Wall Street Movement now in its third month is standing strong and has coordinated ongoing organized protests, battled in police stand-offs, raids, and arrests; organized successful Port shut downs in (Oakland, CA, Portland, Oregon, Longview, Vancouver) and continues to stay true to their montra "We are the 99%"
GZ | Soulye Photography Art Gallery will continue the momentum and present the exhibit "Occupy..." a collection of photographic works presented by those who participated in the Occupy SF and Oakland movements as well as works from Denver and Los Angeles.
"Our current art call will be extended throughout the exhibit" says curator Curtis Jermany. "With events and protests changing from day to day I didn't want to exclude images taken throughout the month."
The exhibit has been open since Saturday, November 19, 2011 and due to additions as things change in the movement, the Closing reception will be extended into the new year January 14, 2012 from 2pm-6pm some special invited guest panelists and speakers include Occupy Oakland reps, Kev Choice, Shake 9169, She Cat, Needa Bee, Mr. Fab Queen Deelah, Boots Riley, Mistah Fab, and music by Bay Area artist Neshadi. The studio is open on weekends: Saturdays 12pm-5pm, Sunday 2pm-5pm, and By Appointment
