October 07, 2009 - A great weekend was definitely had by all this past weekend during The Cove of Lake Geneva’s first royal gathering, the Kings and Queens Royal Gala. The Gala took place on October 2nd through the 4th where guests were treated to many luxuries during this event that was all about them in the hopes to show our appreciation for their continued loyalty and patronage. Guests arrived to find custom event glasses and itineraries in their rooms as well as custom Kings and Queens Royal Gala labeled bottles of champagne.
The opening reception started on Friday 7:00 pm through 10:00 pm in The Cove’s main lobby which was transformed into a lavish cocktail hour with an open bar and hors d’oeuvres. During this time guests also participated in a wandering poker game that had them traveling the halls of the Cove in the hopes to obtain the best poker hand. Guests even had a chance to get their pictures taken in King and Queen attire. The entire evening could be followed on twitter events by searching #covegala.
On Saturday guests were treated to their choice of golfing at Hawks View Golf Course, Lake Geneva’s only 5 star rated course, spa services including manicures, pedicures, or massages by Salon 180, one of Lake Geneva’s premier salons, and a day of shopping in downtown Lake Geneva using exclusive discounts provided just for guests of the Kings and Queens Royal Gala.
The night rounded off with a full lake tour aboard the Lady of the Lake boat cruise. Guests were transported to The Lady by horse drawn carriage. The boat toured Geneva Lake where guests tried their luck on several different types of table games including Texas hold ‘em, blackjack, roulette, and craps. Each guest was presented with a $5000 chip upon boarding the boat with the hopes to end the night with the highest winnings. The wandering poker game winner from Friday night received and extra $2000 in playing chips. At the end of the night, prizes were awarded to the top five money winners. First place being an all inclusive trip to Las Vegas!
Upon returning from the evening, guests arrived back to their rooms to find boxes of fudge placed upon their pillowtop beds as well as a surprise photograph from the golf outing and Friday night’s King and Queen photograph session.
Sunday morning brought a delicious farewell brunch which featured a variety of fruits and pastries, as well as the option to build your own omelet. Many thanks were given by all as they departed from this complimentary weekend to remember.
