May 24, 2009 - Samdhan Foundation launched GSME News, information solution to meet the needs of SMEs around the world, specially in the developing and least developed countries. GSME News, the statement said, would give due attention to diffrent kinds of information that are really required for SMEs. Unlike usual market intelligence or business intlelligence focussed solutions that often target those enterprises at the upper level of enterprise pyramid, GSME News address the issue of information needs specific to Small scale sector.
The statement says that GSME News is a comprehensive solution for SMEs and all concerned stakeholders like NGOs working in the field of micro enterprise development, micro finance, SME banking, SME policies.
GSME News would cover issues pertaining to Technology for SMEs, SME Finance, Capital Market, Market, Trade and Policies. Also it brings SME related event news from around the globe such as trade exhibitions, expos, seminars, workshops, coferences, training programs etc. Also GSME News profile select SMEs and medium sized companies, young business leaders. SMEs could send across developments related to their new products, launches or any such new initiatives to GSME News.
It is Samadhan Foundation that took initiative to bring out GSME News along with Institute for Development Studies and Enterprise Research. Samadhan Foundation believes that Enterprise and Entrepreneurship development as well as Micro and small enterprises (MSEs) play an important role in generating employment, income and wealth. It has the potential to make use of untapped economic resources in the best possible manner. By recognizing the scope and potentials of MSE sector, SF involves in activities to promote MSE sector. It is in this context that GSME FORUM, or SME Global Forum came into being with Samadhan giving a frontal support. GSME Forum is a forum of SMEs, SME Experts/consultants, SME promotional agencies and NGOs working in the field of SMEs, SME supporting organizations, Micro Finance, Micro credit and Economic development and associations and Unions. SME Global Forum started its activities in the month of February 2008.
Samadhan Foundation also undertakes research, studies and organization of seminars, workshops and dissemination of information etc. Institute for Development Studies and Enterprise Research (IDSER) undertake above activities. IDSER undertakes studies related to rural development and development issues as well enterprise focused studies. The Institute has plans to offer courses related to management, HR, Development Studies and other job oriented courses. Further, the institute would be one of the major arms of the SF in realizing its goals.
Samadhan Foundation is a registered body as per the statutory requirements that are applicable for non-profit/non-governmental organizations in India and registered under Travancore - Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act 1955. Singapore based Factor-E, a division of SquareDeal Sourcing assisted Samadhan in developing GSME News.
