Great Italian Pizzetta comes to Portobello Road
Tonda, originally from Pescara (Italy), is proud to announce the opening of its first London outlet this week.
- (1888PressRelease) December 19, 2014 - Tonda, originally from Pescara (Italy), is proud to announce the opening of its first London outlet next week. The family-run business, which was founded in the 1950's by the current owner's father Gabriele Ciferni, is bringing its special "Pizzetta" to Portobello Road.
Riccardo, a well-known Italian entrepreneur and his wife Laila Ciferni have four premises under the name Trieste Pizza in and around Pescara, the coastal town situated in the central Italian region of Abruzzo. They have also recently opened a restaurant in Mercado de San Miguel in Madrid.
A Pizzetta is a smaller version of a pizza at just 6 inches wide, cooked to order using authentic Italian ingredients. The restaurant will open on December 15 with a special Open House event from 11am to 11pm when people can come and sample the Pizzetta.
Riccardo has had his eye on London for some time as part of a wider planned expansion across Europe and the USA, and has finally found the perfect location with the support of his UK business partner, David Shahata. The outlet on Portobello Road will allow customers to enjoy authentic Italian Pizzetta in the restaurant or to take away.
