February 29, 2008 - Two new graduate training programmes have been launched at Poole-based Codestone following the success of a pilot scheme.
When 23-year-old Bournemouth University graduate John Treweeks joined the firm’s Technical Graduate Programme in 2006, it was the first of its kind. It proved so successful that Codestone has just launched two similar schemes to produce technical infrastructure specialists and IT sales experts.
The technology company already recruits a quarter of its staff from Bournemouth University.
John said: “Graduate schemes are like gold-dust – many of my peers working for other companies have to arrange their own study to get the qualifications they need.
“I feel very fortunate to be working for a growing company in a job I love, while being given time to study for a diploma in accounting. I’m given numerous projects to complete – when they feature areas I haven’t learnt about yet Codestone gives me the time to study and learn from in-house experts – I’m learning on the job.”
Since joining Codestone John has gained a certificate in business accounting software SAP Business One. His four-year fast-track graduate training contract, includes a dedicated tutor. Performance permitting, he could be promoted to senior consultant in just over two years.

Codestone is heading back to the university at the end of February to deliver a lecture on server virtualisation.
