| I am a Private Individual, I have no company ties whatsoever. I come from an ex farming family close to the Lancashire & Yorkshire border. After leaving secondary school I trained as a motor vehicle technician at Accrington & Rossendale college and got a distinction in the exams. Unfortunately I damaged my back at work and changed career to a Class 1 HGV driver where I had a wide experience of the transport industry with various companies, I had been regularly riding shotgun in wagons since I was 13. As a HGV driver you could say that I was as well qualified as a test pilot having done all the science concerning vehicle motion. My back finally went too bad to continue driving for a living, partly due to the poor state of many roads. I suppose that you could say I retired early but I have put plenty of effort into campaigning against traffic calming over the past ten years. |
