At first glance Poodwaddle.com looks like a slick new search engine with an extensive set of features that include searches for photos, videos, music, news, blogs, news groups, maps, weather, dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, phone books, and quite a number more.
Yet none of these services are it's own. Poodwaddle could best be defined as a compact directory with search capabilities. It's content is displayed almost exclusively in Flash (you will need Flash 6 plugin to view it) which provides more dynamic and animated interfaces. The home page offers a number of directory choices. Choosing your favorite directory is like choosing a favorite skin for a media player. They share much the same content but have different looks to appeal to different people.
Most of them include tools such as a calculator, calendar, and notepad.
There are no popup ads, annoying banner ads, ads from Adultfriendfinder, fraudulent free offers, or even Google ads to read around.
Clearly Poodwaddle's creators are trying to give everyone everything they want - and they are doing a pretty good job of it.
