May 17, 2007 - Search engine marketing and optimization team of DesktopMoney LTD has found a proof about real value of Google PR for its search engine ranking algorithm.
This became possible after analyzing the recent revelation made by Matt Cutts on his famous blog about the details of getting into supplemental results. In his post Matt mentions that "If a page doesn’t have enough PageRank to be included in our main web index..." and explains that page with insufficient PR gets to supplemental results.
Though the topic of the post is devoted to supplemental results, the mentioned quote brings back the issue about the real value of Google PR for its search engine ranking algorithm, and does that beyond the issues of supplemental results only.
As evident from the quote, Google PR is still very important for getting good positions with search engines on the keywords or phrases.
This statement goes against the trend of webmasters, SEO and SEM specialists who do not have much trust into PR to be of any any big influence on the position in search engine results.
But if PR is important for Google in cases of including or not including a page into supplemental results (and a page that is not included into the supplemental results will be ranked higher and will get by far more traffic from search engines than the page that was included to the supplemental results) that it is also quite logical to assume that Google PR can be a crucial factor for other ranking situations.
