Going Green Saves Greenbacks For SC Equipment Funding

SC Equipment Funding explains how businesses can simply and effectively reduce costs and help the environment by "Going Green".

Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) March 06, 2008 - SC Equipment Funding has implemented a new, eco-friendly “Green” program to promote conservation in the workplace. The three prong program of Recycle, Reduce, and Reuse promises to save money as well as help conserve natural resources.

Recycling activities include use of simple recycling bins for paper, plastic and aluminum cans as well as specialty items such as printer ink cartridges and obsolete electronics. Usable items no longer needed by the company but still useful are donated to local nonprofit groups. “The key to successful recycling,” explains company spokesman Bruce Braviroff, “is to designate someone on staff to take responsibility and look for new ways to recycle. Since everyone wanted to support the program, it was easy to find someone to take charge.”

Through employee training, additional “Green” activities were implemented. With minimal effort, employees learned how to configure their computers to save energy by using sleep mode when not in use and turning off equipment at the end of the day.

Changing some of the daily business processes created the greatest impact. “Our on line equipment lease application is not only more convenient for clients,” points out Braviroff, “but also saves a tremendous amount of paper.” Further savings are realized through SCEF's innovative fax to email gateway that eliminates much of the paper used in conventional faxing.

Braviroff predicts that more businesses will implement eco-friendly, “Green” programs as they learn about the savings they can achieve. “The technology is there for any business to use,” adds Braviroff, “businesses just need the will, and saving money is a powerful motivator.”
