Go Large Records Returns To Indie Label Status

Since Derek Jiles was appointed VP over a month ago, he has made some radical changes in the company. Most recently he has decided to return Go Large Records to its original grass roots purpose and offer a “NO FEES’ policy.

Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) June 21, 2009 - Derek Jiles, Vice President of Marketing announced that he is changing Go Large Records image and services to suit the artists needs better.

“Go Large Records is returning to their roots,” Jiles said. We are operating as an Indie Label with major label support and backing and we are only accepting 6 -10 artists per year. We have been most recently getting requests from artists to ‘sign them’ and believe in them and I have decided that this is the best route to take this company.”

Go Large Records has offered press services and distribution services to artists that could not afford the services of a traditional publicist or could not generate the interest of a label to distribute their music. They charged small fees from $99 a month and simplified the branding process for artists. However, since Derek Jiles was appointed VP over a month ago, he has made some radical changes in the company. Most recently he has decided to return Go Large Records to its original grass roots purpose and offer a “NO FEES’ policy.

“I wanted to offer the same deals that large labels can to artists and with our extensive investor backing we can afford to outfit 6 -10 artists per year with decent indie sized deals, “ Jiles said. “Most management companies charge upwards of $2500 a month to assist an artist, we are now offering it all for FREE.”

Go Large Records will offer full distribution, both in digital and hard print to their in store and on online contacts for all artists, merchandise packages and a touring vehicle for all artists they sign. They do not plan to offer upfront advances; however they will cover studio time and pay for all mixing and mastering fees of the signed artists.

“We have two artists in mind so far that we are approaching,” Jiles said. We are looking to get one band out of Los Angeles on tour this fall as a major opener in line of direct support. We also have another band in mind out of Nashville that we want to get into the studio and we have some work with Warner lined up for them. We will take the rest of the year to scout out and determine which other bands we think have the talent and ability to make it.”

Go large Records is currently accepting music for review and all artists can feel free to send MySpace links or press kits directly through the website. Due to the high volume of music submitted, they will not get in contact with every artist.
