GlobalPhone now supports the Counterpath Bria softphone for Apple iPhone and Google Android versions on its BroadSoft switch hosted PBX technology.

This allows GlobalPhone users to travel anywhere in the world and have access to the company PBX. Bria iPhone and Android Editions are SIP-based softphones that use a Wi-Fi connection to make and receive calls. IPhone and Android users can eliminate expensive roaming charges when traveling overseas by using their softphone and can operate seamlessly within the corporate PBX environment.
Using the iPhone, iPod's or Android existing contact list, Bria facilitates easy and effective communication management with an intuitive interface that accommodates multiple calls. Call functionality includes the ability to swap between two calls, merge and split calls and perform attended and unattended transfers. Bria iPhone Edition incorporates advanced security settings which allow for secure call signalling and audio encryption. It also contains enhanced audio features including G.711, G.722, GSM, iLBC and an optional G.729 codec.
