GlobalBattleground.com, the Social Network for Fighters, Goes Live with Beta Version

Fighters and martial artists have a new home on the web at Globalbattleground.com. They can create profiles to promote themselves with pictures and video, get the latest news, and participate in a community around the fastest growing sport in the world. From MMA to Muay Thai, from Wu Shu to Wrestling, there's something for everyone on Globalbattleground.com.

(1888PressRelease) October 20, 2008 - LOS ANGELES, CA — Social media made a splash in the martial arts world recently when GlobalBattleground.com, a web-based social group targeting martial artists and their fans, announced it arrival earlier this month. Founded by fighters Thomas Martin and Steve Johns, and in collaboration with Einbahn Studio, LLC, GlobalBattleground.com aims to give fighters of all styles around the world a space of their own to interact with one another and communicate on a level rarely found inside the ring.

“We built this site because we feel it’s important for all fighters have a chance to connect with each other,” said Martin, a coach with the LA Stars of the World Combat League. “There are people out there doing some amazing things in martial arts that we might not ever get to see, sometimes in techniques we’ve never heard of. We can give them and everyone else—amateur to professional—a place to share their experiences and display their talent to the world.”

Although the site is still in Beta testing and has yet to reach full capacity, GlobalBattleground.com also brings a level of design and functionality that makes the experience more appealing to the user than many other web communities. Craig Williams, a representative of Einbahn, LLC, claimed that “When building the site, we felt it was important to use a certain amount of discipline with its design. We wanted it to look clean and operate smoothly, unlike other sites we’ve seen that try to use every square millimeter of the page”

Its combination of form, function, and the service it provides is what Martin hopes will lead it to become the premier martial arts community on the web. Judging by the site’s current state and the feedback it’s already received in its first month, it’s safe to say GlobalBattleground.com is off to a good start.
