Free Program Provides Employees with Wealth of Free Perks and Financial Wellness Guidance at No Cost to Employers
Global Mortgage Loan Corp., based in Pembroke Pines, Fla., announced the launch of its new “Home Sweet Home Benefits” program. Available free of charge to small-, mid- or medium-size employers throughout Florida, the program is a no-cost group benefit offered to employers in order to provide employees a wealth of free perks, discounts and comprehensive Financial Wellness resources. The program enrollment is available to employees, their spouses and/or domestic partners and dependents.
Program perks include substantial savings on purchases and services provided by a network of companies from South Florida, as well as major online businesses. In addition, members are entitled to discounted mortgage services and preferred loan products. As a resource to both employers and their employees, financial wellness educational materials have been developed and are available on discs and workbooks which are distributed to program participants free of charge during Financial Wellness seminars that will be conducted in the workplace.
Once enrolled, members of the program will have the ability to log onto www.HomeSweetHomeBenefits.com, where they will have access to educational materials, savings tools and discounts on everyday purchases from sponsors.
A key component of the program, the Financial Wellness seminars are designed to alleviate the stress of home financial budgeting will be offered free of charge by program experts. The seminars consist of a 40-minute session covering personal home and family finance tips ranging from building personal savings to ways to structure finances in preparation for obtaining home, student, and car loans. The Financial Wellness seminars also includes class participant work sheets to help understand personal budgeting, FICO scores, net worth evaluation and managing interest rates on loans.

While conducting a market review, executives at Global Mortgage came across studies that showed that productivity is suffering in the workplace because employees spend as much as 20 hours per month worrying about their personal financial condition. They also learned that nearly 8 out of 10 employees believe that their employers should provide some assistance in helping them to get on the road to managing their personal finances. Financial stress in the general population is on the rise due in part to factors such as rising fuel costs, new and confusing tax laws and wages that are not keeping up with cost-of-living increases. Many more employees across the U.S. are living check-to-check and most require some type of financial coaching to better position them for personal wealth. Hence, the creation of Home Sweet Home Benefits at a time when employees are seeking value-added benefits and employers are seeking to provide incremental benefits at no added cost.
