August 18, 2006 - Gospel Recording Artist cashes in at the Cashman Theatre
Fresh on the heals of her latest release, “Tell ‘Um” (on Minneapolis-based Trendency Records), Gospel Recording Artist Gina Green wins the prestigious “Las Vegas Black Music Awards 2006 Best Gospel Performer – Female” award. Gina was nominated by the Black Music Academy Association of America in a total of two categories: “Best Gospel Performer – Female” and “Gospel Rising Star Award”. The nominations were determined by a selection committee of music executives, radio station programmers, music journalists, fellow musicians and entertainers.
The LAS VEGAS SOUNDS OF SOUL MUSIC AWARDS was held in Las Vegas on Sunday, August 13, 2006 inside Cashman Theater. Gina performed her song “Testimony” at the event before a packed house. The formal attire event included a red carpet for the nominees, honorees, special guests and celebrity hosts. “We’re very excited about the fact that Gina has been recognized by her peers for the incredible talent that she is”, stated David C. Coleman, President of Chrematizo Label Group. He continued, “we expect this is only the tip of the iceberg as Gina continues to gain recognition in the industry. Gina has world-class talent, and we’re anticipating many more awards in her trophy case before long, including Dove and Grammy Awards.”
Gina Green has performed on the same stage with gospel and contemporary Christian artists Tonex, J Moss, The Gospel Gangsters, and many others. She will be on tour in the upcoming months in support of “Tell ‘Um”.
