In20minutes.org is a global campaign that is designed to encourage voluntary HIV testing. The campaign begins on World AIDS DAY 2013 and will be promoted during the Goree Challenge IV - Spirit of Malabo project.
The Goree Challenge is a 5,000 mile solo transatlantic row from Las Palmas, Canary Islands to New York City and will begin later this year. The Goree Challenge mission is to encourage voluntary HIV testing, increase access to antiretroviral medicine for those who need them and advocate for prevention for an AIDS-free generation.
"HIV/AIDS is continually having an effect on development in both continents. Often, Mayors are the first responders in finding services for the HIV positive population and to keep people HIV negative", Victor Mooney said.
Victor Mooney, AIDS activist and executive director of New York based - South African Arts International, Ltd. (SAAI) has pledged to keep the camaraderie alive; thereby, naming his Brazilian custom made ocean rowboat "The Spirit of Malabo" in a tweet earlier today.
"Remarkably, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has kept a light on the fight against AIDS with an array of public outreach efforts to improve public awareness of discrimination against those with HIV/AIDS and prevention initiatives", said Victor Mooney.
