This sportswear collection utilizes the cut lines in the collection evoke a sense of seduction through minimalism as the fabrics transform from utility into femininity. Together the items bring fashion into a conventionally unconventional place.

2fer The word fer came from Latin word facere, which means make and produce. 2fer is a contemporary women’s wear brand that is designed by 2 individual designers. Its philosophy is to provide women a wardrobe that is easy to mix and match; outfits that work from day to night. The 2fer look is a mix of uptown sophistication and down town cool.

Threshold is a better contemporary women’s wear label founded by 4 By Seven, Inc. Threshold, according to the American Heritage Dictionary, is defined as “the point that must be exceeded to elicit a response”. Threshold affixes himself around the idea of a “presence”. It elaborates traditionalism, naturally illustrating an ideological modern day attention. It can take away from overly solidified concepts, drawing redundancies. Threshold has the ability to illuminate the desirable existence of the reserved yet self-assured woman.

Some of the most fascinating and unique handbags displayed at the GIDC event range from Dres’ traditional Italian leather, Corrente’s impressive hand-crafted pieces, and Modern Unity’s combination of interchangeable woven fabrics. These trend-setting designers today now feature all sorts of synthetic and stylish looks that harken back to those lean times. In addition, new designers Chulette and Nature vs. Future will unveil their latest creations as this year’s brightest new stars of fashion.

Each year, hundreds of aspiring designers, who graduate from the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design, find their way to GIDC as they search for factories, marketing and distribution assistance through their Young Designers Program. Over the last twenty years, GIDC has assisted hundreds of apparel firms and designers like the Gap, Alice Roi, David Rodriguez, and the Limited, and has trained thousands of New York workers in manufacturing.
