April 28, 2007 - Actor Shriya launched the first copy of Galatta.com’s new monthly magazine, Galatta CINEMA, exclusively for movie buffs of South Indian films in a star-studded event at Sathyam Cinemas this evening. The first copy was received by Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti in the presence of Mr. C.N.Ramdas IAS (R), Galatta’s CEO, Mr. C.R. Venkatesh and Galatta’s President, Mr. Girish Ramdas.
Speaking during the launch, Shriya said that she had read the magazine and would surely be an avid reader of Galatta CINEMA and commended the magazine team for responsible reporting.
Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami said that Galatta CINEMA has come at the right time and would be filling a void in the market which needs such English magazines to propagate movie information to the local populace in South India.
Mr. C.N. Ramdas IAS (R) commended the team and asked them to emulate the Hindu newspaper in the way it should be run.
Mr. C.R. Venkatesh, CEO, Galatta.com, thanked everyone for attending the function and asked advertisers present to cash-in immediately at the lower inaugural rates.

There were also a host of prominent advertisers and other media and industry related invitees present including Mr. Kiran Reddy, MD, Sathyam Cinemas.
