May 31, 2008 - Friday Dreaming has recently launched a new line of greeting cards to serve families who, through adoption or other life circumstances, were long separated and now reunited. The card line, entitled Finders Keepers!, celebrates the unique relationships of reunited families.
Some reports estimate the number of adoptees in the U.S. at approximately 6 million and birth parents twice that number. In addition, there are untold numbers of children who are separated from one or both birth parents for reasons other than adoption. Although there are few statistics available regarding those who seek reunions, it is a common desire of most children and birth parents to be reunited. The internet is making these reunions possible in greater numbers than ever before.
Owner of Friday Dreaming, Shaunie Friday was inspired by her own family’s experience after reuniting with her husband’s biological father. “We soon found that commercial greeting cards too often presupposed a history of shared childhood and growing up experiences, so we ended up buying cards that were so generic, they felt cold and impersonal,” she remembers. That was the genesis of the Finders Keepers! line of greeting cards. She now uses her photography and writing to create premium quality greeting cards that express the wide array of emotions experienced by families getting to know each other for the first time. Finders Keepers! cards are now available to be ordered online at www.fridaydreaming.com.
