Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease)
June 09, 2009 - Ned Jennings, principal at FreemanWhite (www.freemanwhite.com), an architectural, engineering, interior design and consulting services firm for healthcare organizations in the United States, has announced that construction of the new Hospice Care Facility for Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, N.C. has been completed.
The firm designed the 9,800 square foot, free-standing facility on 3.5 acres of land. The facility features a customized care environment designed to treat terminally ill individuals with compassion and respect, and includes eight patient rooms, support areas for patient’s families, a living room and a dining room. Each patient’s room has visual access to the outdoors, as well as physical access to a covered porch and garden.
FreemanWhite designed the facility with a focus on creating a homelike environment for the patient, family, and friends. In each patient suite the wood floors, soft colors, crown molding, raised-panel doors, and attractive furnishings comprise a space that is familiar and comfortable. Display areas around the patient accommodate personal items such as cards, flowers, mementoes, and photographs. The displays also conceal the Institutional necessities of electrical and medical gas outlets.
