February 01, 2008 - McMinnville, OR – Freelin-Wade (www.freelin-wade.com) announced today the launch of a new line of FEP plastic tubing. The long name of the material is Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene but for short, call it FEP. This tubing material compares to DuPont’s Teflon® brand polymer.
Extremely durable, FEP is an economical choice for applications requiring chemical resistance or exposure to a wide range of temperatures. Freelin-Wade’s FEP is extremely flexible, making it an ideal choice for self-retracting coils. FEP is also available in a variety of packaged lengths.
The three primary advantages to Freelin-Wade’s FEP tubing are:
• With nearly no moisture absorption, it is easy to clean. Freelin-Wade’s FEP is ideal for food contact applications.
• FEP’s wide temperature range means that it can be used in harsh environments where you may have never considered plastic tubing before.
• Its flexibility means that it is easy to install in nearly any application.
“We’re very excited to bring this tubing to market,” said marketing manager, Ron Miller. More than a “me-too” offering, “Freelin-Wade wanted to do FEP better than anyone else in the business. We’re doing that by offering our FEP with a suite of variation possibilities, including coiling, jacketing, packaging and cutting. Our FEP is in a class by itself.”
