Freelin-Wade Announces New Tubing To Dental Market

After two years of development, Freelin-Wade announced today the availability of Silcryn.

(1888PressRelease) December 17, 2008 - McMinnville, OR -- Today, plastic tubing manufacturer, Freelin-Wade (www.freelin-wade.com) has announced a new tubing material for their dental market customers. The compound is called “Silcryn” and according to a company spokesperson, it will change the industry.

The company and their resin suppliers, have been working on developing Silcryn for the past two years. It is a low cost thermoplastic alternative to silicone. The material offers higher tear resistance and better color uniformity than silicone, without the silicone price tag. Its smooth, silky surface will not grip onto itself or other tubes. Silcryn’s low “memory” means it hangs the way tubing should hang- flat and straight, every time.

Brady Webb, the dental specialist at the company said, “When it comes to dental tubing, Silcryn changes everything. In the dentist’s office, Silcryn’s suppleness reduces hand and wrist fatigue. Dentists will appreciate its smooth surface because it will keep their tools neat and they won’t get tangled up with other tubes.” Webb also went on to say, “Silcryn has a soft matte-like appearance which gives equipment that high-end look and feel. Its look, feel and performance are getting high praise from both dentists and manufacturers.”

Freelin-Wade customer and long-time industry merchant, Jim Anderson said, "Silcryn has brought a new dimension to the dental industry. It virtually eliminates all of the old problems associated with the vinyl and urethane materials; specifically memory curling and twists. Surface clinging is a thing of the past. It handles like silicone tubing but is much more resistant to damage.” Anderson added, “We’ve received nothing but praise from our customers."

Freelin-Wade is currently producing and stocking Silcryn in the 4-hole Midwest handpiece tubing and as a scaler jacket. Also available as custom runs: Euro-style handpiece jackets, vacuum hose and syringe tubing.

Founded in 1980, Freelin-Wade is North America’s largest independent manufacturer of plastic tubing and hoses for industries as diverse as pneumatics, dental and promotions. The company employs more than 100 people at its McMinnville, Oregon plant. Privately held Freelin-Wade is a subsidiary of Coilhose Pneumatics. Freelin-Wade tubing is always an exact fit and with a verifiable on-time delivery rate exceeding 99%, their customers know precisely when their order will arrive. Freelin-Wade is well connected.
