November 01, 2007 - Greek Community:
Forgreeks.com is proud to present the finest online community dedicated to meeting the needs of fraternities and sororities worldwide. Their company has traveled the country to ask college Greeks and alumni what they expect from them, and they took notes!
After sitting with their staff, and months of reviewing notes, they were finally ready to launch www.forgreeks.com. They designed a network that is as fun as Myspace and as united as Facebook, complete with the capabilities of YouTube and Monster, but for Greeks only. This is why they are important to the community. This site will provide an outlet where fraternity and sorority members will be able to network and show the world the true meaning of being Greek.
During their college tour, there was a major concern with the level of spam and the number of false profiles on Myspace. They decided to resolve this issue upfront by allowing their users to monitor the site themselves. For example, a Myspace user in New York can easily steal a picture of someone living in Australia and post it on their page, along with a fictitious profile. This is a case of false identity; commonly found within other sites. With www.forgreeks.com, it is required that all members post a picture of themselves on their profile, their organization and the year they joined. This dramatically decreases the likelihood of false profiles being created on their site. In addition, members within these schools and organizations are encouraged to notify the forgreeks.com administrator of imposters, and the administrator will remove any profiles that are determined as false.
Jason Jordan, a fraternity member from Atlanta, Georgia told www.forgreeks.com that he joined his organization with the hopes of finding a “good job” when he graduated. He also stated that he was very disappointed when he graduated and found out how difficult it was to reach the alumni who promised to help him secure employment. The forgreeks.com administrators decided to provide a job bank within their site where Greeks can post job opportunities and give other Greeks a head start on the application process.
There was one response that stuck out the most during their questioning sessions. When they asked, “What do you enjoy most about being a member of a Greek organization?” most Greeks expressed how much fun they were having. They really enjoy the sense of family and unity. In response to this feedback, they created an events section where members can upload videos, pictures, and spread the word about where the next party or Greek convention is located.
Come hang out with them on www.forgreeks.com. Come experience the fun! They are the premiere online community for college Greeks and alumni.
