October 12, 2009 - Frank Schroeter to deliver guest lecture at Pfeiffer University on "History, Development and Practical Application of Business Intelligence and Web 2.0 Technologies"
Frank Schroeter was invited by the Dean of Academy of International Business Studies at Pfeiffer University, Charlotte Campus, Dr. Ulrich R. Froehlich, to present during their International Conference 2009, August 2 - 15, 2009.
Mr. Schroeter introduced the subject Business Intelligence by outlining how BI traditionally and continues to enable companies to make better decisions by providing them access to their business sensitive data and turning it into actionable information.
The lecture started with a brief overview of the history of BI and its terms and definitions and led into practical application of such tools. Schroeter says: "Organizations that have access to the right information at the right time make better decisions. Today, however, businesses are challenged with deploying broad and effective BI solutions due to high costs of implementation and training, and the complexity of current BI tools for information workers. The strategy is what ulitmately decide success or failure of any BI solution. Most organizations simply buy software licenses and figure their BI and DW strategy out along the way. There is a better way, which is more effective and economic. TCO (Total cost of ownership) and ROI are essential variables in the BI equation." He continues:"This forum is a wonderful way to introduce the subject and its practical use to the right audience." Schroeter is scheduled to lecture again on Nov 19th during the International Winter Conference in Charlotte.
