February 28, 2008 - Los Angeles, CA – Francia Raisa Almendarez, known as Francia Raisa, will be seen on the ABC Family network starring in MGM’s “THE CUTTING EDGE 3: Chasing the Dream” alongside actor Matt Lanter (Heroes, Grey’s Anatomy). The third installment of the “THE CUTTING EDGE” trilogy revolves around ice skating's most eligible bachelor Zack Conroy (Lanter), who loses his ice skating partner and girlfriend when she breaks her leg in an accident. In comes her replacement, Alejandra "Alex" Delgado (Francia Raisa), a tough yet beautiful hockey player, who not only affects the ice in the rink but also the ice in his heart.
As a child and into her teens, Francia Raisa extensively trained in ice skating. When this role was presented to her—she knew it was meant to be. Francia Raisa shares, “I had always wanted to be in a film where ice skating would come into play. It was one of my hobbies growing up, so it was fun to be able to incorporate it while acting. Although this role was physically tough to play, I made it through with a smile on my face, no broken bones and a few bruises!”
The film was directed by Stuart Gillard (RocketMan, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III) and written by Susan Estelle Jansen (Bratz, Lizzie McGuire). The film is set to premiere March 16, 2008 at 8 p.m. PT/ET.

About Francia Raisa:
For a girl who was born into Latin radio industry royalty, Francia Raisa is certainly one of the most down to earth and gracious rising stars in Hollywood. One of her biggest roles to date, starring opposite NBC’s “Heroes’” Hayden Panettiere in “Bring it On: All or Nothing” was followed by a starring role in the Nickelodeon film “Shredderman Rules.” Now, in addition to her lead role in “THE CUTTING EDGE 3: Chasing the Dream,” she will also be seen playing a lead role in the film “Underground” directed by Tinieblas González.
