New York, NY (1888PressRelease)
June 30, 2008 - From a perch that offers a 360° view of the Manhattan skyline, and from a retreat in the windy city, FRAMEPOOL is excited to introduce New York and Chicago creatives and filmmakers to its unique, European based collection.
Following debuts of satellite offices in Paris and London, Framepool is now in New York, Miami, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
"The huge demand makes it absolutely necessary to be in place in the States," explains CEO Stephan Bleek. "Framepool is one of the biggest online providers for premium motion content. We offer an extensive collection of more than 400,000 film scenes - most in 35mm, HD, and 16 mm."
More than 500 talented directors and DPs are represented in the Framepool collection. Framepool also offers footage from, among others, the AP Archive, the National Filmboard of Canada and the extreme sports collection "Nuit de la Glisse/Perfect Moment" (worldwide exclusive).
Framepool's motto is run by filmmakers and the New York office will be headed by award-winning, non-fiction filmmaker, Mona Kanin. Framepool is strengthening its American presence with another new appointment as experienced footage specialist Krista Kilgore takes over as the Framepool Director in Chicago.
Peter Carstens, who represented Framepool in Miami for several years, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Framepool in the States. "The world of advertising is changing at an accelerated pace. Producers need reliable and responsive partners. We're in perpetual motion, improving our platforms to match the highest and newest standards of technology and are confident we'll impress filmmakers with our "made-in-Germany' sensibilities," says Carstens.
"We love making films and perceive ourselves as partners to filmmakers. We know what it's like to walk in these shoes; we understand the process, the creative potential and the real world constraints," comments Kanin. Kilgore adds, "We're so excited by Framepool's fresh approach. I'm inspired by the wonderful new content I have to work with; it's refreshing to be part of a superb but small team, with direct access to the CEO. We're a totally professional shop."
New Sales Manager, Anna Toemp, who"s worked previously for Corbis and Framepool in Munich, adds, "Of course, we"re curious to see how New York"s creatives will react to our highly varied and sometimes edgy footage. We expect that our European content will be received with great enthusiasm by many people here."
Toemp, Kilgore, Kanin and Carstens join colleague Alexander von Roon. From the Hollywood office, Alexander has sold footage to all the major Studios, (look for Framepool shots in "Sicko", "The Pink Panther 2", "Indiana Jones 4" and "Speed Racer", among others) as well as Advertisers. As another former filmmaker, Alex oversaw the shoot for NCIS in Paris.
