Forum Addresses Top Concern Of Outsourcing Governance

Business Leaders to Learn How to Improve Outsourcing Outcomes. It is the first in the association’s new Outsourcing Leadership Series, full-day programs focused on leading topics of interest to business executives.

(1888PressRelease) April 26, 2008 - Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Business leaders will learn how to improve outsourcing outcomes by using better governance to manage their relationships with outsourcing providers at a one-day intensive forum conducted by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).

The IAOP Governance Forum will be held Sept. 9, 2008, beginning at 8 a.m., at the Marriott, in downtown Chicago, Illinois. It is the first in the association’s new Outsourcing Leadership Series, full-day programs focused on leading topics of interest to business executives.

“Governance is a top concern of outsourcing professionals today,” said Jagdish Dalal, IAOP managing director, thought leadership. “The lack of good governance is being recognized as the root cause that outsourcing outcomes fail to meet business expectations for buyers and providers of these services. Increasingly, companies are understanding the importance of the strong requirements of having good governance over outsourcing.”

The forum will cover the various aspects of outsourcing governance, including relationship management, delivery oversight and risk management. Experts, customers and providers will share their experiences to help professionals learn about the critical aspects of governance to achieve greater value in their deals.

Among the topics that will be addressed in education sessions are the components and aspects of governance; governance across the lifecycle of a deal; and managing offshore relationships, centers for excellence and multiple vendors.

Danny Ertel, partner of Vantage Partners and chairman of the IAOP Governance Chapter, host of the event, will make opening comments. The program will include a networking lunch and closing reception.
