Former Chicago Bears linebacker, Hunter Hillenmeyer, and other NFL athletes, are teaming up with athletic cleat manufacturer Position Tech and Gatorade to host a free football clinic for 8th through 12th grade players on July 9, 2011, at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

The clinic is "position-specific," which means that athletes work at stations staffed by players and coaches who understand the unique challenges of a specific position. Throughout the day athletes will receive tips and advice from NFL pros in the various areas of their game including: fundamental techniques, safety recommendations, and on-field drills. Athletes will also have a chance to put their skills to the test on official "combine style testing" stations.

The 6-hour event kicks off at 8am and concludes with lunch. All athletes must register on the event website in order to participate in the clinic. The event will be sponsored by Position Tech and Gatorade and will support the Gridiron Alliance, a charity that helps children who have been paralyzed while playing school sports.

"Position Tech is very excited to offer a position-specific clinic geared to young football players, and to contribute to the important work of the Gridiron Alliance," says Christian Anderson, Position Tech spokesperson. A fast growing player in the billion dollar sporting goods industry, Chicago-based Position Tech offers products that are tailored to each athlete's specific position and skill requirements. Founded by former NCAA athletes, Position Tech is committed to educational outreach and public service. "The 2011 Position Clinic is an opportunity to educate young athletes in some of the more technical aspects of player strategy and to raise money for a great cause," says Anderson.
