- Improve your gas mileage by around 3% by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure
- Improve your gas mileage by around 1-2% by using the manufacturer’s recommended grade of motor oil. The dealership will use the correct grade for your vehicle every time you go in for an oil change
- Replacing a clogged air filter improves your gas mileage by as much as 10%
- Follow a regular maintenance schedule to optimize your vehicle’s fuel economy
- Get the air pressure checked at least once a month
- Have the mechanic rotate the tires as part of your routine maintenance to ensure even wear
- Get your tires rotated at least every 6,000-7,000 miles which will help in detecting alignment problems and help prevent irregular wear
- Driving with bad tires can make things worse. Therefore, get your tires examined for tread wear. Proper tread depth will help prevent skids and hydroplaning
