June 19, 2008 - RICHMOND, IN - The Model T Club of America, based in Centerville, IN will be the host to the 100th Anniversary party of the Ford Model T. The celebrations will be held in nearby Richmond, IN at the Wayne County Fairgrounds at 861 Salisbury Road North from Monday July 21 to the following Monday July 28. Events will include a Model T car show and judging, a “Gasoline Alley, ” driving and challenge games, Model T road tours, a vintage baseball games, a pre 1930 air show and much more including a visit to the newly opened Model T Museum in Centerville.
Centerville is also host to another Indiana landmark, Webb’s Antique Mall, the largest in Indiana. Webb’s plans to join in the Model T celebration with a little celebration of its won offering a weeklong special sale with discounts in all booths. And there are 300 booths and 600 showcases allocated among 300 dealers to check out at Webb’s spacious 83,000 square foot facility. There is plenty of free paving parking and a full service restaurant, the Station Stop, is ready to refuel your empty tank with homemade soups and pies, piled high sandwiches and an assortment of other goodies. The mall will be open 9 to 6 seven days a week during the T Party.
Webb’s opened in 1981 and many of the dealers in the mall today were there the day the doors opened 27 years ago. The building was originally a casket factory. Centerville is a quaint little town started in 1816 located six miles west of Richmond on US 40 and Webb’s is just off I-70 in Centerville, the ideal place to take a break from T Partying and take a look at the antique and vintage items in the mall.
