December 30, 2006 - Look for a real estate agent who understands your need.
No place is far off now when the opportunities around the major and minor urban centres of the country are on a spin with real estate booming just every where. Far off here means at a distance from one’s work place or centre of a city or neighbouring city.
How far you can travel? A close friend of mine asked. It depends. It depends upon the mode of transport, the quality of roads and the quality of traffic. In short the quality of passage. Person like me who is jittery about driving to work place and back home by his own car would always prefer a chic and comfortable intra-city transport like the Delhi’s Metro train. So would another friend of mine who says,” it is a zing thing to park your car at the metro station, disembark at the place of your work and walk to your office.”
Now how many of you will take that in the face of the fact that most of just die to flaunt our latest car to our colleagues and of course the security guys who won’t pick up you bag to your seat if you drive an old ramshackle car.
You lose this to gain that. If you have decided to stay far away from the city right into an agricultural zone in you own small acreage of heaven you have to decide to extreme-commute, i.e., you must travel by your car or public transport really or obnoxiously long distance.
If Gurgaon real estate scene has put a suburb property out of your reach keeping your car in good shape for long haul daily could be the second best option in the event of you choosing to stay, say 50 km away from it. That would mean travelling 75 km one way if you have your office in south Delhi. Looking for a change of work place to Gurgaon would be nonetheless would be ideal.
Thus Gurgaon properties also means a piece of land somewhere out there in an agricultural zone. Look for a property dealer in Gurgaon who can understand what you want and not one of those real estate consultants who does not understand anything other than green backs.
