Coach Fred P. Mariani took the head coaching job at Iona College as the first full time head coach in the 33-year history of the Iona College football program (NCAA I-AA) in 1998. Prior to accepting his first head coaching position at Iona, Mariani served as the Offensive Coordinator and the Recruiting Coordinator at Fordham University from 1994 through 1997.
Mariani resides in Saddle River, NJ. His daughter Brook, is a senior at Iona.
