  • (1888PressRelease) June 13, 2014 - Two Tumbleweeds, the sister duo behind Foodie Dice, is announcing the official launch of its second product created to inspire innovation in the kitchen. Mixology Dice is a set of eight laser-engraved wooden dice designed to provide inspiration for creating handcrafted cocktails made with fresh ingredients. Mixology Dice closes its Kickstarter campaign in mid-June and will be available for pre-order on the Foodie Dice website at www.FoodieDice.com.

Liz and Sarah Downey, Co-Founders of Two Tumbleweeds, started the company in 2013 with the purpose of inspiring creativity in everyday life. Fueled by a desire to make cooking fun, they launched Foodie Dice in October on Kickstarter with a goal of $7,500. The campaign raised more than $150,000 by the end of its run, and was one of the only grossly overfunded projects on Kickstarter to deliver on time, with some backers even receiving the product early. Foodie Dice helps people take the mystery out of what's for dinner by rolling nine laser-engraved dice to create simple, seasonal meals with fresh ingredients. Featuring four seasonal-veggie dice and even a die for cooking method, there are more than 186,000 different combinations, with gluten-free and Paleo friendly options, as well.

Mixology Dice follows the same format, inspiring fresh and interesting drink combinations for both the novice mixologist and the seasoned professional. Each of the eight laser-engraved dice has six options for a category of ingredients - one die each for spirits, sugars, liqueurs, citrus, fruits, herbs, spices, and bitters. Every set comes with an instruction booklet that shows which dice to roll to make specific types of traditional drinks, what ratios of ingredients to use, and general mixing tips. With more than 1.5 million combinations, the dice come numbered and correspond to a chart in the instructions, making the process easy and fun to follow.

"Last year we ran a campaign for our first product, Foodie Dice - inspiration for simple, seasonal dinners. We loved the community participation from our backers, and one of the most popular suggestions for our next product was dice for making cocktails," says Co-Founder, Liz Downey. "We did some research and then took what we had learned and created a system that's not only inspirational and fun, but teaches you the principles for making traditional drinks, so you have the knowledge to create anything you want using the ingredients on the dice. We're really excited to share what we've created with everyone!"

Both Mixology Dice and Foodie Dice come in two packaging options - a cotton muslin drawstring pouch ($24) or a reclaimed wine bottle tumbler with a cork cap ($38). The wine bottle tumbler is upcycled to give new lives to bottles that would otherwise end up in a landfill. All dice are laser-engraved in the United States on domestic wood.

Along with Mixology Dice and Foodie Dice, Two Tumbleweeds is planning on doing more dice sets, and is also working on complementary items - cocktail shakers, mixing tools, kitchen tools, etc. The newly added Seasonal Beer Dice are now available on the Foodie Dice website and include four six-sided die with different seasonal beer options.

Mixology Dice will be available for pre-order at www.foodiedice.com and available for regular order at the Foodie Dice website and select retailers, including Nordstrom, in September.

Two Tumbleweeds is the combined effort of sisters Liz and Sarah Downey to inspire creativity in everyday life. Foodie Dice, a set of nine laser-engraved wooden dice, was created to break the monotony in meal preparation by giving people the opportunity to create different flavor combinations while having fun in the kitchen. Mixology Dice is the second product launched by Two Tumbleweeds and will be available for purchase in late 2014.
